Numerous trees were cut down or uprooted as the area was left largely unguarded. Since the land and assets were handed over to the company, forest rangers lacked authority to intervene without formal coordination. While FLC admitted to a lack of resources for forest protection, the province of Gia Lai is preparing to request the project's investment license be revoked.
