The cement industry faces many difficulties
According to the Vietnam Cement Association, exports of cement and clinker in the first quarter of 2023 continued to be affected by inflation from major markets, causing both the output and value of Vietnam's cement exports to decline dramatically. Export volume in the first quarter reached 8.1 million tons with a turnover of USD 345 million, down 25% compared to the same period last year. Not surprisingly, many businesses in the cement industry suffered a heavy loss in the first quarter of 2023. According to statistics, 24 cement companies have announced their financial statements for the first quarter of 2023. There are 5 companies with increased profits, 9 companies with reduced profits, 2 companies with profits and 8 companies with losses.
