HNX-Index loses ground.
The VN-Index ended July 19 on HSX at 943.97 points, up 1.58 points (0.17 per cent), while the VN30-Index closed at 941.09 points, up 5.67 points (0.61 per cent).
On HNX, the HNX-Index closed at 105.58 points, down 1.34 points (1.26 per cent), the HNX30-Index 188.79 points, down 2.79 points (1.46 per cent), and the UPCoM-Index 50.59 points, up 0.43 points (0.85 per cent).
Liquidity on HSX was VND3.6 trillion ($155.8 million) and VND700.6 billion ($30.3 million) on HNX.
Food and beverage stocks to lose ground included TAC, SAB, TLG and VCF, by 4.8, 1.3, 0.9 and 0.6 per cent, respectively, as BHN gained 6.9 per cent and VNM 0.9 per cent. KDC closed at its opening price.
Gainers in banking included MSN and BVH, by 4.1 and 2.2 per cent, respectively, as MBB lost 2.2 per cent, CTG 2 per cent, STB 1.8 per cent, BID 1.3 per cent, VCB and VPB 1.2 per cent, SSI 1 per cent, EIB 0.7 per cent, TPB 0.4 per cent, and TCB 0.2 per cent.
In energy, PVT gained 1.8 per cent, GAS 1.4 per cent, PLX 1.1 per cent, and PGD 0.5 per cent, as PPC and PVD lost 2.7 per cent and NT2 0.6 per cent.
The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were BID, DXG, CTG, MSN and CTD.
VIC was the largest net sold share on HSX, followed by VJC, VHM, VNM and DHG.
BVS was the largest net sold share on HNX, followed by HUT, VCS, PMC and CAP.
On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 24,800 shares worth VND268.4 million ($11,620).
They net sold on HSX by VND51.03 billion ($2.2 million) and on HNX by VND37.44 billion ($1.6 million).
