AI alliance launched in Vietnam

HCMC – More than 20 government agencies, businesses, and universities in Vietnam have joined forces to launch the Au Lac AI Alliance, marking a major step forward in the country’s AI ambitions.
The operations of the Au Lac AI Alliance are guided by three core principles: Consensus, Respect, and Open Community.
Leveraging the strengths of its members, it will focus on three key areas: AI research and development, the establishment of standards and policy frameworks, and education and training.
In the field of research and development, alliance members will collaborate to build large language models (LLMs) capable of processing Vietnamese accurately and naturally, in a way that reflects the country’s cultural identity.
At the same time, the alliance seeks to establish an open and transparent AI community, where individuals, organizations, and businesses can freely access and use publicly available resources, including source code, datasets, and models, even for commercial purposes.
This approach is designed to foster innovation, accelerate AI adoption in Vietnam, advance national AI sovereignty, and elevate the country’s technological standing.
In the area of AI policy and standard development, the Au Lac AI Alliance will contribute to shaping regulations, standards, and codes of conduct to ensure that AI products are safe, responsible, and compliant with ethical norms and Vietnamese laws.
In education and training, the alliance will organize programs, workshops, and competitions to raise awareness and improve AI knowledge and skills within the community.
The founding members of the alliance include major technology corporations and startups, such as the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, MobiFone, VNPT, FPT, CMC, BKAV, Misa, MoMo, VNPAY, Zalo, AI For Vietnam, AI Hay, N2TP, and Finhay, along with several academic institutions.
