Thanh Chuong Sand and Gravel Mining and Transportation Joint Stock Company was fined and suspended for mining violations

Thanh Chuong Sand and Gravel Mining and Transportation Joint Stock Company, located at Block 2A, Dung Town, Thanh Chuong District, was issued an administrative penalty of VND 249 million by the Thanh Chuong District People's Committee (Nghe An) and had its mining operations suspended for two months. An inspection revealed that the company committed five administrative violations, including mining sand on the river outside of the approved plan, exceeding the permitted mining area by 1,117 square meters in the low-lying riverbank area of Dong Van commune, and causing erosion of the riverbank. Additionally, the company reportedly lost boundary markers, failed to follow proper mining procedures, and inaccurately reported annual actual mining output. These violations led to severe land erosion, impacting cultivation areas and crops for residents in Dong Van commune.
