Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation (VEAM) was found to have committed multiple serious violations. Recently, the company's General Director and Chief Accountant were prosecuted for "Abuse of power while performing official duties" for causing losses of over VND 3 billion through false payments and the use of fake invoices. Additionally, collusion and falsification of bid package values resulted in further losses of nearly VND 1.2 billion. Previously, several former VEAM executives had also been disciplined for violations that caused hundreds of billions of dong in state asset losses.
