Vietnam National Cement Corporation continued to report a sharp decline in cement and clinker exports in January 2025, reaching only over 2 million tons and generating USD 76 million, down 36.7% and 36% year-on-year. This marked the third consecutive year of declining exports, due to the clinker export tax increase to 10% since 2023, rising costs, and tightened import regulations in major markets such as China, Bangladesh, and the Philippines. Clinker export prices fell to USD 28.5-29 per ton, about USD 10 per ton lower than early 2023. The Ministry of Construction proposed reducing export taxes to support businesses
