Son Hai Group protested the contractor selection results for the HCMC - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway

Son Hai Group publicly protested the contractor selection results for the HCMC - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway construction package (the section through Binh Phuoc). Son Hai Group claimed they submitted the lowest bid, over VND 732.3 billion, but the investor chose the consortium with the highest bid, over VND 866 billion, as the winning contractor on May 22, 2025. Son Hai Group alleged that this action showed signs of violating bidding laws, potentially leading to a loss of over VND 113 billion from the state budget, while also severely impacting the company's reputation. Following the incident, the Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee directed the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board to work directly with Son Hai Group to address the complaint, even though the Project Management Board stated it had not received any official written complaint.
