On May 12^th 2022, Economy & Forecast Review, Agency of the Ministry of Planning and Investment has organized Vietnam’s Economic Forecast Forum: Vietnam’s Key Economic Sectors: Outlook in 2022-2023.

This forum was organized to connect policymakers, researchers, and businesses to share their in-depth insights as well as forecast for growth scenario and growth prospects of Vietnam's economic in 2022 – 2023.

Speaking at the forum, Mr. Nguyen Quang Thuan – FiinGroup’s CEO, shared his views by employing data-driven analysis on key sectors in Vietnam. Key takeaways are:

• Most sectors are making a strong recovery but have not yet reached their pre-COVID-19 growth rates, except for Banking, Finance, and Insurance.
• Several sectors are still slowly recovering including Aviation, Tourism & Entertainment, and Hotel.
• The residential real estate sector is facing significant challenges in the short term from the macro context (inflation and interest rates), policy changes following recent events, bank credit capital and bond credit capital, etc. Meanwhile, industrial real estate sector has been developing strongly and retail real estate is observed a significant recovery.
• Real estate industry outlook might have several effects on credit quality and growth prospect of banking industry as well as Vietnam’s economic growth.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Thuan also emphasized still rooms for recovery, but some sectors should be "activated” with the government policy consideration such as speeding up the Economic Recovery Package and public investments to achieve the economic targets.
